Introducing, Blinky!
Hi. It’s me. Blinky.
You didn’t invite me, but I don’t take hints. I’m adorable, dramatic, and emotionally overinvested in your every move—especially when it comes to your goals.
Things are about to get unhinged.
So… why do this?
User feedback made it clear that people don’t just want tracking—they want encouragement, especially in the early days or after setbacks.
That’s where Blinky comes in.
Blinky is our quirky, emotionally expressive sidekick who thrives on user logs. He responds with humor, sass, drama, and heart—making each log feel personal, entertaining, and rewarding. His extreme responses create a “What will Blinky say today?” effect, encouraging users to open the app just to see what chaos (or praise) awaits.
How Blinky shows up in-product
Former design Updated design
Blinky’s first integration point was the Home screen. Putting him front and center gives us the space to deliver emotional feedback that matches the user’s actions.
From the start, we wanted his role to be clear. Blinky isn’t a navigation tool or coach; he’s an emotional companion who helps users feel supported in moments of effort, fragility, or inconsistency.
So as users log actions or complete tasks, Blinky responds right there on the same screen — celebrating hard, cheering loudly, and offering an almost unhinged amount of encouragement.

Training AI to speak
In addition to Blinky, the product also features Coach Avo's voice. Avo is a coach and guide, but most importantly, Avo is a trusted friend who brings out the best in you. He’s different than Blinky in that, he is there to provide actual feedback on how people can improve their habits. He is informed by research, and he gives that information in a kind, positive way.
As an example, this is the prompt I used to train AI to speak like Avo.
